High Noon...

Saw this cam shot at high noon on the UAF/GI web site:

Reminded me that we're almost at the winter solstice and soon the days will be getting longer. Probably no warmer though, it's usually March before anything resembling warm weather is common. But hey, it's Alaska, nobody said it'd be easy!

  1. I don't know if I could get used to that much limited daylight.

  2. Well it's not so bad. I grew up in the midwest and remember the gloomy days of December being not so great. At least here it's usually clear (and cold) during December, so the sun's shining for the four hours or so that it's up. I try to get outside for at least an hour every day so that helps, just being out in the sunshine.
